The resort has a scenic 9-hole manicured golf course. It is interspersed with ponds, and sandbanks and is the only course bisected by the Equator in Africa– allowing one to leisurely cross from the Northern to the Southern Hemisphere.
The course has been redesigned to mirror international golfing standards and has seen a new interest in corporate firms making their way here for a round of golf.
The property’s picturesque landscape lends a serene atmosphere and ideal backdrop for teeing off, whilst the weather is perfect, never too hot or cold to putt a golf ball.  The Club offers an additional ‘fun’ night golf option on hole #1 for events at the golf clubhouse for corporate guests.

Equator ceremony – Equator Ceremony: Celebrating living on both hemispheres at the same time. Did you know that the line of the Equator runs through Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club? Our Equator Ceremony which is popular among guests is a unique celebration as you cross from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern Hemisphere. This special moment is celebrated with local Kikuyu songs and dances. You will never forget this memorable occasion as each guest who participates receives a signed Equator Ceremony certificate from the Safari Club.
Animal Orphanage – Visit the animal orphanage for an opportunity to learn more about wildlife and help in the conservation of the critically endangered Mountain Bongo. The Animal Orphanage is located within the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy. The orphanage is home to the endangered Mountain bongo which are less than a hundred worldwide. The orphanage is also home to the injured, neglected, abused, or frightened wild animals where they are taken care of with the goal to release them back into the wild where they belong. Get a ticket to visit the animal orphanage from the gift shop. All ticket sales are part of the donations that go towards the conservation efforts and daily maintenance of the animal orphanage.
Nature walk – Book a date with Mother Nature by taking a 3-hour scenic walk, as you venture deep into the lower slopes of the revered Mount ‘Kirinyaga’ as the locals call it. Get to spot a few animals which include the shy Burchell Zebra, the Great African Caped Buffalos, and the waterbucks just to name a few.
Bird Watching – Mount Kenya is a bird paradise for bird watching lovers and early morning birding in the forest is ideal for you to see different species within the conservancy. Join our resident experienced bird walk guide who will help you explore the over fifty bird species in and around the hotel grounds. You’ll search for our feathered friends and learn more about bird-friendly habitats, passage birds, and those that make a permanent home at Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club. Binoculars are provided during the bird walks.
